The complete story of Lakewood

Since 1986 the name Lakewood has stood for handcrafted western guitars "Made in Germany", which have long secured a firm place in the history of acoustic guitars. Founded by Martin Seeliger, a visionary luthier who trained under master Manfred Pletz, the Lakewood adventure began with the dream of putting Germany on the world map of steel-string guitars.

German guitar-making at the highest level

The name "Lakewood" may sound American at first, but it carries the soul of German craftsmanship. Inspired by a small town on Lake Erie in the USA, it now stands for acoustic masterpieces made in Gießen, near Frankfurt am Main. With a production of well over 20,000 guitars, Lakewood has accompanied musicians worldwide and has become a symbol of sound, precision and aesthetics.
