The whole story of Duesenberg

The foundation of Duesenberg

Dieter Gölsdorf, designer and founder of Duesenberg Guitars, founded a small company in 1978 that manufactured and sold guitars and guitar parts. He soon gained extensive experience for his later vision of an electric guitar. His love of sophisticated engineering and bold designs eventually led to the creation of his own electric guitar brand - Duesenberg. This was in 1986 and the motto of the new brand was: ‘We build instruments for musicians who need or want to play them every night.

The success story of the Star Player

The Starplayer TV was born in 1995, and before you knew it, it had found its way into the hands of world-famous guitarists. The requirements were clear. It had to have its own voice, look stunning and be a reliable companion at the same time. Her design has been refined over the years, but even today she is driven more than ever by these core values. Today, she is the sister of more than 10 different guitar series that have been created over the years and are celebrated all over the world. Some of Starplayer's biggest fans include Chris Cornell, Jason Isbell, Ron Wood and Mike Campbell, to name but a few.

More than just an insider tip

Duesenberg instruments quickly became a worldwide insider tip among live and studio musicians. The successful design, the unique, versatile sound and the robust, roadworthy overall construction have since won over many professional artists. These include Ron Wood, Mike Campbell, Bob Dylan, Joe Walsh, John Mayer, Robbie McIntosh, Johnny Depp and many more. Today, Dieter works with a steadily growing team of music and guitar enthusiasts. His partner Ingo Renner has taken over the day-to-day business and the design work has become a joint process.

Duesenberg Charity-Unterstützung

Duesenberg is also very committed to environmental protection and social organisations. To give back some of the raw material that has flowed into Duesenberg's history over the years, the company is involved in the Eden Reforestation Project, which is reforesting thousands of hectares of forest in north-west Madagascar. For many years, Duesenberg Guitars has financed the planting of 30,000 mangrove trees every year. This largely stops flooding and soil erosion and replenishes the underground aquifers. This creates ecologically healthy forest systems, which are now managed responsibly and sustainably and not only provide a new home for many wild animals, but also create new jobs for the people in this region.
