Introducing: Your dream instrument from Fender
All the info to help you decide
In November 1950, the first Fender model, the Esquire, received a second neck pickup. The newly created model was named Broadcaster and became the first Fender model to be produced in larger numbers, gaining historical significance. However, the name Broadcaster was short-lived and had to be changed after a complaint from Gretsch, which had already used the name for various drum products at the time.
From roughly February to August 1951 Fender continued to use the name and logo decals on the headstocks but cut off the designation Broadcaster. These no-name guitars, nicknamed Nocaster, are very rare due to the short production span and today fetch astronomical prices among collectors.
The Fender Custom Shop has made it its mission to study these high-quality vintage guitars and reproduce them down to the smallest detail. Here we have a very special Custom Shop Nocaster one-off for you.
